SMT Stencils

We offer custom, low-cost, laser cut, reusable Mylar stencils for the application of solder paste to printed circuit boards using smt components.

Our stencils are made from 0.003" or 0.005" Mylar and are cut with a precision laser cutter. The finest pitch we can reproduce is 0.020" (approximately 0.5 mm) and we strongly recommend that stencils for circuits using fine-pitch components be cut from the 0.003" Mylar. These stencils are flexible with no frame and are usually used by hinging the stencil to the work surface with a piece of tape. The maximum size of stencil we can cut is 32" X 18" including the border area.

Price:

$25 for the first 4 square inches and $1 for each additional square inch. For the calculation of the price only the processed area of the stencil is used not the 2" border. The dimensions of the processed area are rounded up to the next whole inch for the determination of the size. E.g. The working area of the stencil measures 2.3" (3") by 3.5" (4"). The area is 3 X 4 = 12 square inches and will be charged as follows; 4" square inches @ $25.00 and 8" (12 - 4) square inches @ $1.00 / square inch = 25 + 8 = $33.00 for the stencil.

The standard production time is 5 business days. Production can be expedited up to same day production for a surcharge of between 10% (4 day turnaround) and 100% (same day production). These times are for production of the stencil only and do not include shipping time.

What we do NOT offer

We do not cut metal stencils and we do not frame stencils.

How to order:

To order a stencil, email us your Gerber .g01 file along with your desired turn around time and the payment for the stencil. We can also process DXF files for the same price.

Return / Cancellation policy:

Because SMT stencils designs are custom made for each client there is no value in returned stencils. If we make an error in making your stencil we will fix it at our expense. There will be no refund for other errors but we may be able to make another stencil at a reduced rate. If you cancel an order prior to it being cut we will refund half of the stencil price and the entire shipping charge. If you cancel after the stencil is cut but before the stencil ships we will refund only the shipping charge.
